Code of Conduct

TLDR: Don’t be a goose, and if something doesn’t involve you, stay in your tent.

Harassment: We would vastly prefer BaaCon to be a pleasant, low-stress grazing experience for everyone, regardless of fleece length, gender, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, age, race, or religion.

As such, we will not tolerate harassment in any form. Attendees who behave contrary to our code of conduct will be removed from the event at our discretion. If you’re asked to stop a certain behaviour, stop immediately. No honking, no arguing.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. This list is not exhaustive, and honestly shouldn't need to be explained.

If you are being harassed, see someone else being harassed, or have concerns, contact us immediately. We take concerns seriously, and all reports will be recorded. We will be happy to help attendees contact local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.

Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material.

We reserve the right to screen attendees, in line with our code of conduct.

Health & Safety: This event takes place on an active farm. Farms contain animals, machinery, uneven ground, fences, tools, vehicles, and other hazards that can seriously injure you if you are careless. Follow instructions when given, and please use common sense. Do not enter restricted areas, interfere with animals or equipment, or wander where you shouldn’t. If you’re not sure it’s safe, it probably isn’t.
